KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that water and boreholes quality meet the SANS 241:2015 requirements.
• Perform laboratory tests at required intervals and from required sampling points.
• Inform Senior Process Controller, Regional Manager and Scientific Services of emergency situations including quality failures.
• Manage/ optimize water quality analysis and coordinate independent analysis reports.
• Ensure proper quality management for the region.
• Maintain and adhere to integrated environmental management policy for regional activities.
• Provide regular maintenance of laboratory equipment and units and regular cleaning of the laboratory.
• Submit monthly reports to the Senior Process Controller and Scientific Services.
• Budget for lab equipment and chemicals.
• Maintain discipline and attend to administrative function for leave, overtime and quarterly reviews for all subordinates.
• Observe all Health and Safety protocols and procedures.
• All assignments as directed from time to time.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BSc/ B. Tech Chemistry or Microbiology.
• Tech Quality would be an added advantage.
• 2-year practical experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
• Computer literacy.
• Valid driver’s license.
